Dr. Laura LaMar, DPM, is a double board-certified podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon practicing at Great Lakes Foot and Ankle Institute, with offices in Chesterfield, Clinton Township, East China Township, and Shelby Township, Michigan. She is certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, where she also holds Diplomate status. In addition, she is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. LaMar earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University before completing her Doctorate at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She then went on to complete a rigorous three-year podiatric surgical residency at St. John Hospital – North Shores in Harrison Township, Michigan. Dedicated to advancing her field, Dr. LaMar currently serves on both the St. John Residency Education Committee and the Committee for Residency Evaluation. Prior to starting a family, she also contributed to national committees with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
She is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. LaMar provides comprehensive care, from general podiatric services to advanced surgical procedures. Her special interests include reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage, trauma surgery, arthroscopy, pediatric procedures, sports injuries, wound care, and forefoot surgery.
