Dr. Katie LaViolette is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon who provides comprehensive care to patients across the Southwest side of Chicago. She is dedicated to partnering with patients to effectively diagnose, treat, and overcome foot and ankle conditions, with a strong focus on helping active individuals return to the activities they love.
Dr. LaViolette earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry–Biology with an emphasis in Molecular Biochemistry from Ripon College in Wisconsin, where she also became EMT certified and served as her class Baccalaureate speaker. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.
She completed her surgical residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center and renowned teaching hospital, where she was part of the inaugural podiatric residency class and served as Chief Resident. Dr. LaViolette played a key role in establishing the residency program and received advanced training in orthopedic and podiatric surgery. She later pursued fellowships in sports medicine through the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine in Chicago and in Foot and Ankle MRI through a virtual program. Her research has been published in several journals, highlighting innovative treatments for various foot and ankle conditions.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. LaViolette is committed to community service, volunteering at events like the Chicago Marathon, local homeless shelters, and with Special Olympics athletes. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and their Great Dane, Zoe.
